The Avenues

In the latter part of the 19th century, Chico founder John Bidwell subdivided farmland that stretched north from his mansion, known as the Bidwell Mansion. Today, the area is an urban forest, with a densely populted grid of housing, schools, and businesses. This is a quaint tree lined area with single story homes with picket fences.  However, there are some with two stories with the large front porches. This neighborhood is one of the oldest Chico communities, and holds the highest price per square footage.

Amber Grove

Amber Grove was developed by Webb Homes and is a north Chico Neighborhood. The homes are surrounded by a neighborhood park and is located off of the Esplanade.

Aspen Glen

Aspen Glen is the residential neighborhood east of the Esplanade and north of East Shasta avenue. Many streets here are named after things associated with Colorado. These homes are very close together and have very small yards. This is an affordable neighborhood and starts in the 200K.

Big Chico Creek Estates

Big Chico Creek Estates is a middle class development in the southwest area of town. Backed by the beautiful Big Chico Creek, and very close to Chico’s newest elementary school.

California Park

California Park is the developing residential neighborhood east of Bruce Road and north of Highway 32. This area contains a smaller area known as Canyon Oaks. California Park consists of a lake that the homes surround and also several smaller parks with playgrounds. These homes do consists of HOA dues monthly and some annually. This neighborhood is within walking distance of the private golf course Canyon Oaks.
